The "center" of Russian Hill is Hyde and Union Streets. Access to Russian Hill is by foot, public transportation, and
car. Parking is very limited in Russian Hill. To best savor the neighborhood, come by taxi or public transportation and

From the Peninsula
- From 101, proceed north to Civic Center exit. Take the 9th Street Exit
(right lane). At the bottom of the ramp, turn left onto 9th Street and continue north. When the street crosses Market, it becomes
Larkin. Continue to Broadway or Union.
- From 280, proceed north to 6th Street exit. At the bottom of the ramp, proceed north on 6th. When it crosses Market it
becomes Taylor. Immediately get into the left lane and turn left on Turk, then right at the second intersection onto Larkin.
Continue to Broadway or Union.
From the East Bay (I80), cross the Bay Bridge and take the 9th Street/Civic Center exit. At the bottom of the ramp,
continue left onto Harrison Street for one block, then turn right on 9th Street. Continue north on 9th. When the street crosses
Market, it becomes Larkin. Continue to Broadway or Union.
From Marin County Take 101 south across the Golden Gate Bridge, follow 101 signs to Lombard Street. At Lombard and Van
Ness, cross Van Ness and turn right on Polk or Hyde.

Street parking in Russian Hill is almost non-existent. However, if you are blessed with great "parking karma," metered parking ranges from ½ to 1 hour on and near Polk Street up to 6PM.
All other street parking is limited to two hours unless you have an "A" parking
sticker. Hours of enforcement differ. Check street signs for days and hours which may include Sundays and hours up to 9PM.

Parking Garage at Lombardi’s, on the west side of Polk between
Pacific and Jackson. Free parking for Lombardi's customers; public parking until 9PM.
Valet Parking for restaurants on Polk Street and Hyde Street.

Jug Shop Parking Lot at Pacific and Polk, northeast corner (open evenings for
public parking).
Public Parking Garage at Polk and Bush. While this is six blocks south of Pacific
and Polk, this offers an alternative to driving around forever. |
